Guest Experience— September 2021

The moment I set foot at Camp Restore, I knew there was no place I’d rather be. It was the reset that I needed from the demands of life on the outside. It was a time to try new things, to play, to learn, to move my body, to form new friendships, and to find new inspiration in my pursuit of health and wellness.

Each morning, I would rise early and grab a cup of coffee before watching the sunrise over Lake Frances. I then headed up to the gym to wake my body up with the first movement session of the day, followed by a healthy and nourishing breakfast.

Each day’s program offered a combination of movement sessions like flexibility, aerial yoga, and handstands, and lifestyle sessions on topics like nutrition, holistic medicine, and meal planning. The instructors truly cared about each and every person’s well-being, and offered their wisdom, personal recommendations, and expert guidance on everything from unlocking greater hip mobility to choosing the right protein powder. And it wasn’t just the instructors dishing up the inspiration and good vibes — fellow campers brought their laughter, joy, and bravery to each experience, from the frantic rush of choosing ingredients in the top chef smoothie competition to cheering each other across a 40-foot-tall plank walk in the ropes course. We bonded over family-style meals, nightly campfires and walks in the woods. Not to mention the adventurous day hike to a nearby waterfall!

Camp came to a close with a final meditation session as we reflected on the experience. I felt inspired, reenergized, and recharged. And I knew I had made new friends for life — and I can’t wait to be back. It’s the kind of place that helps you feel like the best version of yourself.
