About Katie Wells

Katie Wells, RosieJo Meals Founder and Chef, developed a love for cooking at a very young age sitting on the kitchen counter watching her mother, Jennie Jo, cook. Many favorite RosieJo Meals are derived from her mother's recipes.

After earning a BA in Sociology and Economics from Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas, Katie headed to New York to pursue her keenest passion at The Culinary Institue of America. Upon graduation, she remained at the CIA as a fellow in the Seafood Cookery Kitchen. Katie has relished her life in the foodservice industry ever since - working in high-end restaurants in Napa Valley and then for a decade in her own fine dining restaurant in Salado, Texas. She has always found time for, and joy in, cooking for family and friends. Her list of accomplishements are many but not limited to, opening her own meal prep business, catering for the CrossFit Games, meal prep for CrossFit Games athletes and for the last ten years, been the Power Monkey Chef.

We are incredibly lucky to have her as part of the Power Monkey Camp team. To say that campers come back for the food as much as the education, is an understatement! Specifically the desserts made by her daughter, Sarah and long time camper/baker Katy!
